Exploiting Germany’s economic woes and the legacy of its harsh treatment at the hands of the Allies after the First World War, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party come to power in Germany.
Within months they have forced the disbandment of other political parties and enacted laws which give them total control of the state.
In the following years the Nazis’ fierce anti-Semitic views become institutionalised as systematic persecution of the Jews begins, the barbaric ‘Final Solution’. Hitler also begins a rapid remilitarisation of Germany.
