Brief History of 107 Battery Royal Australian Artillery:

107th Field Battery (107 Fd Bty) was raised in 1915 in Sydney, moved to southern England in 1916 and severed on the Western front (Belgian and France) from December 1916 to December 1918.

Returning to Australia in 1919 it served as a Militia Fd Bty at Holsworthy NSW. Mobilised in 1941, it again served in the defence of Australia in Western Australia until it was disbanded in 1943 and its members and guns distributed to other Regiments in Australia.

Re-raised in 1967 at Holsworthy NSW, in 1967 it deployed to Malaysia where it served as part of 28 ANZUK Brigade at Terendak Malaysia.

Returning to Townsville in October 1969, it deployed to Vietnam on 7 May 1970 as part of 4th Field Regiment, returning to Townsville in May 1971.

The Battery has served continuously at Townsville since then, with overseas deployments including Somalia 1992-3, Butterworth Malaysia on several occasions, Timor Leste in early 2000’s and elements serving in Afghanistan in the 2000’s and 2010’s.

107 Battery Association, with members and ex-members of the Bty in all parts of Australia, have held regular Reunions around Australia and to Malaysia in 2017, since its establishment in 2004.
