COVID-19 Health & Safety Policy
Please read these booking conditions carefully, as they apply to all bookings accepted by Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours (hereafter known as “MMBT”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
Our health and safety policies follow recommendations from the World Health Organization and the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Safe Travel protocols for tour operators. In response to COVID-19, we have introduced the following policies and procedures, as well as COVID-19 training for our historians and guides.
1. Current proof of COVID-19 vaccination for staff, passengers and in-country partners:
a) All Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours’ historians, guides, and coach drivers will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
b) Passengers travelling with Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours are required to produce proof of COVID-19 vaccination. This will be requested by our reservations team at the time of final tour payment.
c) In putting together our itineraries, we have partnered with local in-country operators who have stringent COVID-19 policies.
2. Fostering physical distancing:
a) Ample space will be provided in our touring coaches and vehicles to allow for physical distancing.
3. Mask-wearing in line with local regulations:
a) Touring staff and passengers will be required to wear face masks where mandated by local regulations.
4. Regular sanitisation and COVID-safe cleaning:
c) Surfaces throughout the touring coaches and vehicles will be regularly sanitised.
b) Hand sanitiser will be available on touring coaches and vehicles, as well as from the historian or guide.
c) In putting together our itineraries, we have partnered with local in-country hotels who have stringent COVID-19 cleaning and sanitising policies.
5. Enhanced health awareness and health checks:
a) All touring staff have undertaken health awareness and COVID-19 training.
b) Health screening tests, including temperature checks, may be used to ensure wellbeing of our passengers.

6. Book with Confidence
a) If you book and pay by 30 November 2021 for travel in 2022: and at any time 90 days or more prior to travel Government travel restrictions are imposed which prevent travel to any land destination included in your tour itinerary, we will refund all payments received from you within fourteen days following your cancellation. Please note that your right to receive a full refund is subject to Government restrictions or directives being in place at the time of cancellation.
Please note that this provision does not apply to notices of cancellation received within 90 days prior to travel.
b) If you book and pay after 1 December 2021 for travel in 2022: and at any time 90 days or more prior to travel you choose to cancel your trip for any reason, a credit for a future Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tour will be issued for your trip.
